Why worry about your voice?
Interpreters looking to improve their skills spend much of their time working from the perspective of message enhancement and discourse analysis. In the process, we often overlook that the voice itself is a tool. When the voice is honed, our spoken product can sound full, rich and express nuance of the message. When the voice is neglected, it can lead our spoken output to reflect negatively on our consumers. This 1-day workshop looks at the voice as an actor does: as a tool to be understood and manipulated for maximum benefit. Join us as we learn warm-up techniques to prevent vocal injury, how to breath for maximum volume and how the elements of speed, intonation and enunciation can enhance our voicing skills.
